Visualization Therapy: Seeing Your Dreams Come To Life September 15, 2008

Visualization therapy mainly involves focusing your mind on what you like to happen and believing that these images are real to your body.

Visualization therapy is very precise and detailed. You can imagine how something smells, feels, sounds and tastes.

Your imagination need to appear so genuine that it can keep your mind into the thoughts that it is a truth. Most of the clinics in US use this therapy to help you to control the pain associated with any ailments or diseases.

When compared to adults, children can easily learn visualization. It is supposed that this is because children have not crossed into the black and white absolutes of adults.

Numerous cases were proved that visualization therapy helped people to fight against various illnesses and to lead normal lives. Most of the complementary health care centers use traditional therapy along with visualization to help you to lessen the activity and reduce further spread of a seizure.

Benefits of visualization therapy:

  • This therapy greatly helps in coping with various activities that you have become very much addictive. It completely changes the way that you think. You will no longer observe yourself in terms of drink or drug use.
  • The therapy helps to alter the mental picture of yourself and in doing so it changes your reality. This is a method of getting and altering the underlying pictures.
  • This therapy is a form of meditation [meditation technique] or self-hypnosis that you can utilize to help with mental, physical and emotional health by visualizing positive and desired outcomes to precise situations.
  • This therapy helps to desensitize the triggers for cravings and help to endure cravings.
  • Visualization greatly helps in personal growth, constructs your clean self and manages the underlying emotional distress, depression and trauma.
  • Visualization therapy promotes activity in the correct side of your brain, which is then linked to emotions and creativity.
  • Gradually, visualization changes your brain wave patterns, increases the flow of low frequency, calms the alpha brain waves and encourages the production of neurochemicals like dopamine that are depleted with the use of cocaine, thus making you feel good.
  • The therapy is commonly used by sports people to create ultimate performance.
  • Visualization can also be used along with the conventional medicines while treating the cancer and also it helps in strengthening your immune system.
  • Visualization therapy acts as an effective tool in stress management.

Visualization is mainly intended to use the right creativity side to help in restoring the balance. The correct part of your brain completely allows what you like to achieve without giving belief and works upon it without judgment.

If you want to use visualization therapy on your own, then you can use intention. Remember that your intention should be specific, perfect and attainable and most of you need to trust and think that it is being accomplished.

Feng Shui Elements – Supporting Harmony In Your Home September 15, 2008

Every object or element present in the space has its own specific energy that it spreads out to everyone and everything else in its proximity.

One of the easy ways to find your life leading with the help of feng shui is to get the power of particular feng shui colors to attain the preferred results. Color is the most powerful, as it is light.

The fundamental belief of feng shui is the principle of five elements.

The five feng shui elements include: wood, earth, fire, water and metal.

These five feng shui elements relate with each other in certain means, usually described as the productive and destructive cycles.

Each one of the feng shui elements is defined with a precise color and the color is the simplest method to utilize the five feng shui elements in order to get more harmony into your space.

Color association of all of the five feng shui elements:

  • Wood: Brown, green
  • Earth: Light brown, light yellow
  • Fire: Purple, orange, red and strong yellow
  • Water: Blue and black
  • Metal: Gray and white

It is very hard to know the usage of color in order to support and balance your environment with the help of compound feng shui objects.

But don’t worry about it, there are always basics defined to it. You will come to know everything with the help of feng shui energy map and clear about the right placement of the feng shui colors.

For instance, the energy related to south feng shui region is associated with your recognition and fame. For this, the better transformation is the fire or light within.

This is linked to the representation that your plan to other people, your individuality in others’ eyes and also how strong or good you are at distributing and sustaining your own identity, values or light.

For south region, the feng shui element is fire and the colors corresponding to it include: orange, red, purple and yellow. Don’t consider black or blue colors for south feng shui region.

  • Green color is an excellent or a healing choice to improve your overall health and balances your family life when it is used in the east feng shui region.
  • Blue color is a good choice for north feng shui region. This color supports and helps you in your career plans. For east region, it provides health and family wellbeing and for southeast, it provides abundance and prosperity.
  • Yellow color in the south region gives good times and happy gatherings.
  • Pure white color in the west region supports you in your imaginative endeavors.

So, when you plan to bring the colors to your environment as feng shui therapy, make sure that you study the light patterns throughout the day in your space and also observe how the color works with other people in your family. Also, the color should match with your decor objects, furniture pieces, arts, etc.

Everyone has heard that water is important for health, but even still, most people dont drink enough water. Water is also vital to your fat burning efforts and maintaining a lean body. After all, our bodies are about 65-70% water. Water also keeps you from snacking on unhealthy sugary foods and sugar laden soft drinks, as many times when we feel we are hungry, we are actually just dehydrated. We need water in our bodies more than we need food. The body can survive for much longer without food that without water. Water is like the foods to eat to lose weight oil in the engines of our cars. It is involved in almost every process the body goes through, from digestion to nutrient absorption. It also keeps your energy level up as it prevents dehydration.

Creating A Feng Shui “Notebook” September 12, 2008

Bagua

Bagua

Most Feng Shui books and classes tell you to start your own Feng Shui notebook, but they never explain exactly how to go about it. Finally, I can lay out a good start for you here.

My recommendation is to get a smaller-sized loose-leaf notebook (also called small format). The one I use is about 9″ x 8″ (or European size 23 cm x 21 cm). I use several different colors of paper.

Start by adding a title to your first page, Intentions for This Year. Next, divide the page into the nine Bagua squares. Add a label at the top of each square, indicating the name of that square–for example, Heath and Well-Being, or Career. Spend a few minutes jotting down any goals for the year that you may have, as they fit into bagua squares. It’s OK if you don’t have goals in every square.

If you are unfamiliar with where to place the bagua squares, here is a guide (and don’t worry now about colors or elements):

Here are some personal examples. In my Love and Relationships square, my goals for this year are spending more time, and more fun time with my daughter, and finding the time to play long-distance chess with my brother who lives in another country. The goals I wrote in my Wealth and Prosperity corner include doing a better job of living within my means, and to get my financial papers in order. So take the time to enter some goals for yourself.

Next, make one page in your notebook for each room of your home. Don’t forget to make a page for the hallway, the garage, and each bathroom; as well as the utility room, if you have one. If you have already made your house plan, you can mark on the top of each page which bagua square(s) the room fits into. (If you haven’t yet made a house plan, then you can skip this step for now.) The reason for making a page for each room is that now you will have a place to start recording any changes you make.

We made some changes yesterday. An electrician came and installed a light in the downstairs bath, so I duly marked that on my Downstairs Bath page, along with the date it was done. He repaired some lights in various bedrooms, and I made notations on the appropriate Master Bedroom and Daughter’s Bedroom pages, along with the dates.

Having a notebook with recorded goals and changes will allow you to go back later to see if those changes were effective. If they are effective at moving you toward your goals you should notice a change within three to six weeks.

Understanding the Mysterious Flying Stars Feng Shui Analysis September 11, 2008

In Chinese Metaphysics, there are many types of systems and formulas. One of them is known as Flying Stars systems of Feng Shui. In this system, there are nine types of stars which are given numeral of 1 – 9. These stars are actually bodies of energy (also known as Chi) that moves within a property. In Feng Shui, a property is divided into nine equal sectors based on compass direction of North, South, East, West, Northeast, Southeast, Northwest and Southwest. The sector without any compass direction is the center. The distribution of Qi over these sectors demarcates the good and bad sectors therein and formed an energy pattern within a property. The energy pattern in a property will change from month to month and year to year as the stars fly from one sector to the other.

In Flying Stars Feng Shui, a property belonged to a period of time based on its facing direction. There are altogether nine periods and each period has 20 years based on the Chinese Solar Calendar. We are currently in period 8 which started in February 2004 and will last until February 2023. In each period, the nine flying stars are categorizes into good and bad stars. The good stars are deemed timely and will bring prosperity to residents of a property whereas the bad ones are considered untimely and become portals of misfortune. For this period, the good stars are 8, 9 and 1. Star 8 is the current prosperity star whereas star 9 and 1 are future and distant prosperity stars respectively.

Star 8 is considered very auspicious as it is the ruling star of the period. It brings wealth, financial success, career advancement and prosperity to the residents when it flies into a given sector of a property. For example, star 8 occupies the East sector in the year 2008. A house with the main entrance in the East sector or a room in the East sector will be able to tap into the positive energy of this star and the residents will enjoy good luck in their endeavors.

Star 9 is deemed auspicious as it is the ruling star for the next period which will start from Feb 2023 onwards. This star brings future prosperity to the residents. In year 2008, this star flies into the Southeast sector of a property. A door or room where this star is located will allow the residents therein to enjoy good luck such as long term investments, promotion and business opportunities.

Star 1 is also auspicious as it is the distant ruling star and belonged to period 1 which will start from Feb 2043 onwards. This star brings wisdom, academic luck, recognition and fame. In year 2008, this star flies into the center of a property. A door or room with this star residing in it will be bring scholarly luck for students or those in the literary, artistic or creative fields.

The other useable stars are star 6 and 4. Both stars are deemed to be untimely but nevertheless have their positive qualities when combined with favorable stars of the current period. Star 6 is suitable for power and status whereas star 4 can be used for romance and academic pursuits. Star 6 and star 4 resides in the North and Northeast respectively in year 2008.

Victoria Beckham Swears By Feng Shui | Dr. Renee “The Doctor Of Feng Shui” September 11, 2008

Football ace David Beckham and his wife Victoria have reported embraced Buddhism.

Sources have revealed that the couple, who live in Los Angeles with their three sons, can be seen chanting every morning to help themselves deal with their hectic lifestyles, reports www.chinaview.cn.

“David and Victoria have gone completely Californian! David has begun wearing health, prosperity and performance beads around his wrist. He has started yoga and stretching classes after a knee injury, and then a teammate suggested Buddhist chanting to soothe his mind,” a source told Britain”s Look magazine.

“Now he and Victoria do a short five-minute chant when they wake up to start the day off on the right foot, repeating, “Homage to the blessed one, the worthy one, the rightly self-awakened one,” the source added.
Posh, 34, is said to have incorporated holistic eating into her diet plan.

“David and Victoria are really getting into the whole holistic, healthy vibe too. Victoria often picks up a soya latte at an organic cafe called Urth Caffe, which is next to The Bodhi Tree bookstore, where she bought hundreds of dollars’ worth of self-help books,” the source said.

The couple are even said to have employed a feng shui expert for the proper arrangement of their mansion.

“They have had Chinese Feng Shui experts come in to rearrange their home, hope it will improve David’s luck on the soccer pitch and their chances of conceiving. They have turned into the ultimate hippy power couple!” the source said.

Lost Sleep, Poor Health: Electromagnetic Fields! September 1, 2008

Feng Shui is concerned with the flow of energy in your space to make it environmentally healthy. This includes its physical health as well. If a space isn’t healthy, you probably won’t be either. This pollution can come in many forms, but most recently I have been concerned about the presence of electro-magnetic fields (EMF’s), most specifically AC electric fields and AC magnetic fields.

These fields are man-made and come from power-lines, wiring and grounding systems within the building, and appliances that are plugged in. When a home or building is polluted with excessive EMF’s, it can havesignificant implications for people who are ill and for those who aren’t.

High EMF’s can produce sleep disturbance, nervousness, allergies, inability to focus or concentrate, fatigue, headaches and bed-wetting in children. When EMF’s have been eliminated, those people who were ill responded well and began recovery. Those people who were not ill noticed beneficial changes in how they slept and their overall energy level. There are some anecdotal studies linking high EMF’s to cancer and childhood leukemia, as well.

Electricity powering our homes and offices produces both AC electric and magnetic fields. Magnetic fields are present when current flows to power appliances, lights, and anything requiring electricity. These magnetic fields are measured in Gauss units or milliGauss units. Electric fields, on the other hand, are produced by the wiring in the walls, floors and ceilings and are present even when the appliance or light is not turned on. Just by turning a light off doesn’t mean the voltage isn’t affecting you. The electric fields are measured in volts or millivolts. The best defense against exposure to EMF’s is avoidance. We will never eliminate all the effects of EMF’s but we can minimize them as much as possible.

As a Feng Shui practitioner, I now carry a volt meter and a Gauss meter to measure both electrical and magnetic fields when I am on a Feng Shui appointment. If you wanted to measure the fields yourself, some home versions of these meters are available in hardware stores and/or electronic stores locally.

Obviously the most crucial room in which to eliminate EMF’s if possible is the bedroom. This is the room where we try to rest and rejuvenate. It is also where we become most vulnerable during the night and most susceptible to impacts from outside sources. During sleep we produce melatonin which, if in a depleted state, leaves our immune system vulnerable. This is also a room in which we spend a considerable amount of time, usually from six to eight hours.

Clocks

Something as simple as an electric alarm clock or a clock radio near your head can produce high EMF’s. Using a battery operated clock is the best option.

Electric blankets

Electric blankets and electric heating pads emit extraordinarily high EMF’s and should be avoided at all costs. If you must use an electric blanket or an electric heating pad, I recommend you plug it in for a while before you get into bed, and then unplug it totally as you’re crawling under the covers. A good old-fashioned hot water bottle is a better solution.

Stereos and television

Avoid having stereos and television sets near your body as you sleep in your bed.

Service Panel

A good practice is to check where the service panel is for the electricity coming into your house. Then make sure that no one is sleeping near this box or that you do not have your desk nearby. Even if the service panel is on the other side of the wall from a bed, it can still emit enough EMF’s to be a health factor.

Baby Monitor, air-dry, computer, microwave

Baby monitors radiate large amounts of EMF’s and should not be put in children’s cribs. Whenever possible, air-dry your hair and/or use a non-electrical razor to avoid getting hit with unusually high exposures from the appliances required to accomplish either of these tasks. Do not sit closer than three feet to your computer or eight feet to your television set. Computers emit the most EMF’s from the back and sides, so when planning an office layout it is important that no one be sitting near the back of someone else’s computer. Water-beds with heaters are notorious for exposing people to high EMF’s. As with the electric blankets, heat the water for a while first before getting into bed, then unplug the heater entirely before you go to sleep. It should not be a surprise that while a microwave oven is running, everyone needs to be at least eight to ten feet away from it.

When a person is ill for whatever reason, getting the EMF’s as low as possible will assist in their healing process. Sometimes it is even necessary to install a demand switch at the service panel to completely turn off all voltage which may run through the walls of the bedroom. This provides the person with several hours of a radiation-free environment in which to regenerate energy and health. In most cases, non-essential circuits can be turned off at night without a problem. Normally the refrigerator, air conditioning or heating would not be on the same circuit as the bedroom.

Without being aware of the presence of EMF’s, Feng Shui adjustments could be putting a client at risk from a health basis. When suggesting that the bed be placed in a command corner of a bedroom, it is imperative to check that the EMF’s are safe for that to happen. It is more important that the bed be placed in an environmentally safe spot than that the Feng Shui is correct. With transcendental adjustments, a problematic arrangement can always be corrected so that the Feng Shui of the room will be in balance. Placement may need to be compromised in order to provide a healthy EMF environment.

By combining the science of electro-biology and the art of Feng Shui, people can create environments that are healthy. When an environment is healthy and stable it follows that people will be creative, productive and live with harmony and balance
